  • The integration enables users to book Renfe and Iyro services on a single platform within Concur Travel, simplifying the management of business travel

Trainline Partner Solutions, the B2B arm of independent train and bus booking platform Trainline, has announced the integration of Renfe and rail Iryo's rail content into ConcurTravel, thereby expanding multi-operator rail booking capabilities for business travel in Spain. Thanks to this collaboration, corporate travellers will be able to book both Renfe and Iryo services within a single digital environment, consolidating the entire range of available rail services on a single platform and reinforcing the commitment to simplifying and centralising business travel management.

This integration represents a step forward in terms of operational efficiency, as it reduces booking times for travellers and travel managers, facilitates the comparison of fares between different operators and improves spend visibility, contributing to better decision-making and potential cost savings. Furthermore, it enhances reporting and spend control capabilities for corporate travel within Concur Travel.

The integration also supports online refund capabilities for Concur Travel customers, allowing travellers and travel managers to manage post-booking needs with greater ease directly within the platform. As part of the next phase of the integration, digital ticket exchanges are also in development, which will further streamline aftersales management and provide particularly significant added value for Travel Management Companies (TMCs) by optimising processes and increasing productivity in day-to-day travel management.

The integration in Spain forms part of Trainline Partner Solutions’ European expansion strategy with SAP Concur, which has already rolled out similar solutions in markets such as the UK and Switzerland, and which continues to advance the consolidation of a digital and connected rail ecosystem across the continent.

With this initiative, Trainline also reinforces the positioning of rail as a sustainable and competitive alternative to air travel on short and medium-haul routes, in line with European objectives to decarbonise transport and promote a modal shift towards options with a lower environmental impact.

The collaboration between Trainline and SAP Concur, together with Renfe’s and Iryo's participation as operators integrated into the system, highlights the growing role of interoperability among players in the corporate travel ecosystem and helps to improve competitiveness, transparency and choice for businesses in an increasingly liberalised rail market.

This integration marks another great milestone for Trainline Partner Solutions, and is another step towards making business travel by rail simpler and more connected across Europe. Integrating Renfe and Iryo into SAP Concur will offer travel management companies a seamless booking and after-sales experience, while offering travellers greater choice across Spain’s high-speed network

These appointments come as Trainline reinvigorates its Executive Leadership to accelerate product development, drive innovation, and support the continued digitalisation of the European rail industry. With a strong focus on innovation, Trainline is committed to reinforcing the shift to rail travel and reducing emissions, playing a key role in the transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation system.
