Gabrielle Geffroy, Senior Product Owner based in our Paris office, and her double life of Trainline and Theatre School.

How did you get started?

Back in 2019, I took some time off to do a week-long drama course. I knew that we were going to prepare for a performance at the end of the course, which would also serve as an audition to properly enrol in the school, but I hadn't planned to go. However, I enjoyed the week so much that when I was told I was accepted into the full programme and saw that there were evening classes, I decided to give it a try!

What’s the main challenge?

Keeping a good balance as it’s very demanding! We have at least 9 hours of classes a week, plus personal work and rehearsals.

As it’s a professional school, you owe it to the other students to be present and involved. I wasn't sure I could commit the time, but I'm having so much fun that it hasn't been a problem. In a way, this activity gives me more energy than it takes, at least for my mind! My body may be a little tired though, but overall, I definitely feel more balanced now than before.

Do you have any advice to share with others who’d like to do the same?

Try it! I started to say to myself: If it doesn't work, you can stop at any time. It doesn't have to be all or nothing, you have the right to try and change your mind.
